So, over the past year or so I’ve seen many photo-a-day blogs/photographer websites and I’ve decided to try it out as a means of both publishing more to my website/blog and forcing myself to shoot more. This will also require me to keep a camera handy at all times and I’m still trying to figure out the best method for that. I think I’ll probably just keep my point and shoot with me most days and bring my SLR with me if I plan on being somewhere especially photogenic. I’m in the DC area now so it’s time for me to explore it through my lens(es).
I am also being a realist about this; I know that I won’t always be able to shoot and upload a photo every day so you can expect to see photos that may have been taken a few days before the actual post is made. Whatever.
I actually wrote this yesterday and today decided to start my photo-a-day project. I didn’t get out much today except to go for a run but I spent some time in the doorway to our balcony, soaking up some rare winter sunlight and snapped a few random shots. I’m not incredibly impressed but I’m not disappointed either. Anyways, here’s today’s shot:
I like to think that it pretty well captures the essence of life in the DC suburbs.
I promise tomorrow’s will be better.
